This week at Pulling Together we have continued to work on our end of project presentation. Members of the group have been producing the video presentation and enjoying learning new skills on Canva.

This week at Pulling Together we completed our individual collages. Using images and body positive words we each made something that we could use as inspiration. We have also begun to create a presentation of all the subjects covered in this project.

This week at Pulling Together we had another talk from Dr Farrah about healthy eating and where to find recipes including those found on British Heart Foundation’s website and their extensive variety of recipes from different regions including South Asian cuisine. She also talked about the importance of meat-free days and making sure we have a balanced diet.

This week at Pulling Together we have been sharing our favourite recipes and sending images of what we have created with the food that we distributed with the group. Sharing food is wonderful way to keep happy and in lockdown even though we can’t eat together by just sharing images of our meals keep us connected.

This week at Pulling Together we looked at where to find ways to keep fit online. Whilst we have all been stuck indoors in Lockdown 3, all of us have said we have struggled to feel motivated especially in the cold weather. Robina has let the members know about the online classes that Trafford Leisure are providing on their Facebook page and a how Trafford council are providing weight loss support through Slimming World virtual meetings.

This week we continued with our Body Talk project that has been funded by Comic Relief. This week we decided to “Change the Script.” Using this we can challenge the process of making appearance comparisons. We all look at images on social media and are guilty of comparing ourselves to people we see online and in magazines and can become trapped in a downward spiral of not feeling “good enough.” Thank you to everyone that has helped to create our storyboard comics.

This week at Pulling Together some us completed their Body Talk collages. We shared these images on Zoom this evening and listened to Dr Farrah talk about eating disorders, social isolation and how and where to find support if necessary. The group enjoyed listening and all agreed that a lot was learnt in the session.
