This week at Pulling Together following the sad news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.This weeks session was spent talking about the news and what everyone was feeling. It was decided that over the next few days members would take part in local memorials and go to The Proclamation of the Ascension in their local areas. Some of the members signed books of condolences and some lay flowers. Many of the older generation of families remembered when a call was made to countries of the Commonwealth to help rebuild Britain after the second world war. It was through this that many of the families came and settled here to work in local factories.

This week at Pulling Together as part of our A-Z of Britishness members of the group were given some plants to help create their own English Gardens. Whilst talking to members of the group many of them spoke about how they loved to look into gardens and admire what people were growing. Being able to make containers and grow vegetables reminded some of the members about when families had small plots of land in their homeland and often grew mangoes, lemons, figs and tamarind.
