This week at Pulling Together we tried to use foiling techniques to design Islamic Calligraphy art pieces. Designing the correct image to foil was quite challenging, however the finished projects were very beautiful.

This week at Pulling Together saw us creating comic books to develop the discussions we have had over the past few weeks. Members of Pulling Together enjoyed using the software to develop visual stories of the topics we have been discussing.

This week at Pulling Together we continued with our Taste of Asian Arts project. This week we arranged for our kite decorating kits to be sent to the members. Thank you to everyone who joined us this week to decorate their individual kites. We are all looking forward to the day when we can fly them together. Kite flying is often done at the start of spring in Pakistan and India and referred to as Basant.

This week at Pulling Together we have begun our Taste Of Asian Arts Project . Each week we will be looking at various Asian Arts and delivering packs for each of the members to do during our Wednesday evening sessions. At the end of the six weeks we hope to have developed lots of beautiful objects that can be displayed in our homes and at the Limelight centre when Covid restrictions are lifted. This week some of the members tried embroidery and produced some beautiful wall hangings.

This week we looked at mental health issues that affect us all: exam or work, family matters, money and health all contribute to what makes us feel stressed. We discussed what we did as individuals to combat the stress and where to go for professional help.

This week at Pulling Together we discussed the topic of belonging. We looked at how as immigrants and the children of immigrants we often feel like we are between cultures. How should we look forward to our future here whilst honouring the culture from where we came.

This week at Pulling Together we continued with our latest project and looked at some of the work that was created in the last week

This week at Pulling Together we have continued with our Discusssions, Debate and Dilemma project.
Members of the group created the following after discussions over the last few weeks

The last two weeks at Pulling Together we have been asking the members for topics to look at during our Dilemma, Decision, Debate sessions. A wide variety of topics have been suggested including:
Equality for girls in the home
Further Education
Arranged marriages
Forced Marriages
Extended Families
Lockdown
Friendship
Stress
Health
Cooking
We hope to look at some of the topics in the next few weeks and find various ways in which to discuss and visualize our Zoom sessions.
This week at Pulling Together we met on Zoom again after a break of a few weeks. We were able to announce that The Community Fund has given us the funding for a 10 week project called Dilemma Decision Debate. We will look at issues that surround our local communities and hope to discuss them and help breakdown the barriers to help make positive changes to our lives.
